LYONS, GA. (THECOUNT) — Remains found in the woods of Rabun county late Thursday are believed to be that of missing Lyons, GA, man, William Woodward.
“Billy” Woodward, 36, who was last seen on August 14, was the subject of 10-day long search after he went missing near Tallulah Falls State Park.
Rescue crews believe they’ve recovered the body of William “Billy” Woodward of Lyons, GA. Rabun County Coroner Samuel Beck said the body was found in the woods of Rabun county late Thursday. The GBI Crime Lab will be performing an autopsy to determine the cause of death and confirm the identity.
When the 36-year-old was first reported missing, he was believed to have been with his friend, Mitchell Morgan. Morgan was found on Saturday, August 18.
