DAYTON, OR. (THECOUNT) — Officials are now saying, young Oregon mother, Meighan Cordie, whose disappearance last month prompted a days-long search – did not wander off as initially reported – but rater died “instantly” when she exited her mother’s moving car, hit her head on a guard rail and slid down an embankment, a prosecutor’s report detailed Thursday.
The body of 27-year-old Cordie, who went missing Saturday night in Dayton, was found on Thursday.

It was first reported that Cordie was attending a wedding at Heiser Farms on Saturday before she left the wedding in a car with her mom. However, they got in an argument and Cordie walked away on foot — leaving her shoes and phone in the car.
Cordie’s mother is not being charged in her daughter’s death but was cited for driving while intoxicated and reckless endangerment, he said. She has a court appearance next week. source
“You never think this is going to happen to your family,” Cordie’s aunt Tracey told KOIN 6 News. “She’s got a beautiful smile, she’s a very beautiful person inside and out. All I can think is she hunkered down in an area we haven’t gotten to or she’s in a building we haven’t searched or someone picked her up and hasn’t noticed that she’s missing.” source
