FLINT, MI. (THECOUNT) — Dr. Simranpal Singh Deol, a 33-year-old Family Medicine physician with McLaren Flint Hospital, in Flint, Michigan, has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon near the hospital campus.

According to the Flint Police Department, Deol was riding a yellow motorcycle eastbound on Sunset Drive at a high rate of speed when an Oldsmobile sedan made a left turn into his path at approximately 12:15 p.m. The collision occurred at Brentwood Drive, just a block from McLaren Flint Hospital.

Authorities say Deol was thrown from his motorcycle upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Oldsmobile, who has not been identified, reported no injuries.

Investigation Details

Preliminary investigations indicate that intoxication was not a factor in the crash. Sunset Drive was closed for several hours while investigators from the Flint Police Department and the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office examined the scene.
