CHESTERTON, IN. (THECOUNT) — Joshua Torres, has been identified as one of two Chicago boys who died in separate incidents while visiting Lake Michigan at Indiana Dunes State Park.
Torres, 10, and another 14-year-old boy, drown Saturday, according to the Porter County coroner’s office. Torres was found face down in the water Saturday afternoon about 40 yards from the shoreline.
The second boy, a 14-year-old, was found in the water in the same area about an hour later.
The older boy was taken to Porter Regional Hospital and later airlifted to a children’s hospital at the University of Chicago. source
Indiana’s Department of Natural Resources said he died early Sunday morning.
The name of the second boy name was not made immediately available.
Officials are investigating.
