OMAHA, NE. (THECOUNT) — Omaha man, Jeffrey Grieves, has been identified by authorities as the man found down in an Omaha parking lot in the 1000 block of Bancroft Saturday morning.
“Jeff” Grieves, 60, was hit by a car and the driver of that vehicle, Orlando Santacruz-Navarro, 19, as well as his passenger, Jesus Dominguez Navarro, 18, are in custody.
Officers were called to the scene shortly after midnight to investigate a report of a man down. The victim, later identified as Grieves, was found in the parking lot to the northeast of the intersection.
Investigators say a Chevy Malibu driven by Orlando Santacruz-Navarro, 19, had pulled into the parking lot from the southeast entrance from Bancroft and began heading west. The car hit Grieves. The driver briefly stopped and then left the scene. source
Grieves was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries suffered during the vehicle impact.
Police later located the driver and passenger and the Malibu.
Santacruz-Navarro, was booked for felony Leaving the Scene of a Serious Injury/Death Accident.
The passenger, Jesus Dominguez-Navarro, was booked for felony Tampering with Evidence.
