LARGO, FL. (THECOUNT) — Florida woman, Christine Giles, has been identified as the woman killed Thursday night. Her boyfriend, Nathaniel Yates, 32, has been arrested in the murder.
Giles, 28, was found shot dead by deputies in a travel trailer parked outside the residence.
Yates and Giles are believed to be boyfriend and girlfriend.
Deputies were called to a residence in the 13000 block of West Rena Drive, Largo, FL, in unincorporated Largo for a report of an injured person. When they arrived, deputies found Giles unresponsive outside the residence.
Yates was inside the travel trailer with Giles and 61-year-old Wesley Warn when Yates became agitated. He threatened Warn with a .380-caliber handgun, according to deputies. Yates then turned the gun on Giles, shooting her once. source
Giles was later pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators located witnesses who identified Yates as the suspect.
Witnesses told investigators that Yates and Giles had been dating for several months before Giles called off the relationship.
Investigators believe the two were dating at the time of the shooting.
