LAKESIDE, CA. (THECOUNT) — Divers searching the San Vicente reservoir for a 12-year-old girl who had fallen out of a boat five days ago, say they have located her body.
Authorities confirmed that a diver working with one of the several agencies searching for the young girl missing since Saturday, recovered a body matching her description.
The girl was in the bow of a vessel that was towing people on a tube when she fell into the water around 6 p.m. Saturday, according to San Diego police. The boat slowed down and the girl went over the side and into the water in front of the boat. source
Investigators say they believe the vessel continued to move, possibly running the girl over.
She was wearing a life jacket, which was later located in the water.
San Vicente Reservoir will continue to be closed until further notice, officials said.
