CASTRO VALLEY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Joseph Gormley, of San Leandro, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Tuesday shooting.
Gormley, 24, was found suffering from gunshot wounds at around 5:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of John Court.
Police say they are searching for the suspect described only as an African-American male who was on foot and fled the scene following the shooting.
The victim of the Aug. 9 homicide is Joseph Gormley of San Leandro. “Our condolences to his family, friends and community. We continue to actively work this case to bring those responsible to justice,” deputies said on Twitter. The murder happened at around 5:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of John Court. “The preliminary information indicates an unknown African-American suspect approached the victim on foot, fired multiple shots and fled on foot to a non-descript get-away vehicle,” deputies said.
