WOOD COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — At least two people are dead after a five-vehicle crash on I-280 in Wood County.
According to Ohio State Troopers the accident happened shortly before 3:30 Friday afternoon in the southbound lanes of the busy highway near Walbridge Road.
Troopers are working to determine how the crash happened, but say traffic was already moving slow in the area due to construction.
A 13abc reporter on scene says at least one car caught fire and a semi-truck overturned in the crash. source
ODOT and law enforcement are working to divert traffic at Woodville Road to avoid further backups.
Troopers say they expect the highway to be closed for quite some time as they clean up.
