TUCSON, AZ. (THECOUNT) — David Judge has been named as the suspect who was shot and killed by an Tucson, AZ, SWAT officer.
Tucson police say they are investigating following Det. David Ortiz‘s fatal shooting of Judge, 53, who was reportedly armed and had barricaded himself in a home.
Authorities say officers were called to a home Tuesday evening where a woman reported her son had fired a rifle inside the house. SWAT officers attempted to contact the suspect, who refused to talk. source
Eventually, Judge exited the home early Wednesday brandishing two handguns.
Police say Ortiz shot Judge with his service weapon multiple times.
Judge was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say a standard criminal and internal investigation is ongoing.
