FORT MYERS, FL. (THECOUNT) — Search teams in Israel believe they have found the body of Teniya Jones, the missing University of Kentucky student from Fort Myers who was studying abroad.
Jones, 19, was swimming in the Mediterranean Sea with two friends when they got caught in a rip current, officials say.
The two friends were able to make it back to shore, but Jones never resurfaced.
Israel Police set up a massive rescue effort, and the body of a young woman was found Monday morning believed to be Jones.
Experts are working to make a positive identification. source
Jones is a graduate of Dunbar High School and is studying biology at the University of Kentucky.
