SAN ANTONIO, TX. (THECOUNT) — Texas man, Jesse Anthony Cruz, has been identified as the victim killed when he was ejected from the sunroof of a vehicle that crashed as he was traveling as a passenger.
Cruz, 50, was thrown from out the sunroof of a car as it crashed and rolled into a drainage ditch on San Antonio’s Northwest Side.
The driver of the crashed vehicle was later identified as 31-year-old, Peter Jacob Zavala, who was charged with intoxication manslaughter.
According to police, the victim, identified by police as Jesse Anthony Cruz, 50, was a passenger in the car as it traveled down Leslie Road near Loop 1604 at about 10 p.m. source
Zavala drove his vehicle through a barricade and rolled off the roadway before landing in a ditch.
An accident report noted that Cruz was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected through the vehicle’s sunroof.
He was later located outside the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
