DAYTON, OH. (THECOUNT) — David J. Evans has been identified as the Rumpke worker killed after being struck by a passing motorist Monday morning in Cincinnati, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Evans, 52, succumbed to his injuries after being transported via Care Flight to an area hospital.
He was airlifted to Miami Valley Medical Center shortly after he was hit while out in the field servicing customers, according to reports.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 41-year-old Brian Jankovich. He sustained serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Evans was dressed in appropriate reflective safety gear and all truck safety lights were in operation at the time of the accident, Rumpke officials said in a prepared statement. source
There were no other occupants or workers involved.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
