AZ Man Found Shot Dead In Goodyear Home Saturday Identified As Ricky Schlecht

GOODYEAR, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Arizona authorities have identified, Ricky Schlecht, of Goodyear, as the man found shot to death in a residence Saturday.

Goodyear police say they responded to reports of shots fired with a possible victim at a home near Willis Road and Estrella Parkway at about 10 a.m. Saturday.

Schlecht, 57, was subsequently found shot dead inside the home, officials said.

It wasn’t clear whether the gunshot wound was self-inflicted or if Schlecht was shot by another party.

A spokeswoman for Goodyear police told reporters that investigators do not believe there is an active threat to the community.

Goodyear police said the investigation is ongoing.
