ABBEVILLE, SC. (THECOUNT) — A South Carolina mother who contacted police to say a man found dead in a vehicle in Donalds Tuesday was likely her son, did so based a description provided by local news outlets, say police.
The Abbeville County Coroner’s Office says the man — 31-year-old Danny Ray Hinton, of Honea Path, was found at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday in a vehicle parked along railroad tracks in Donalds.
Authorities say Hinton had no identification on him, but his mother identified him after hearing a description of the man in local media.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further details of his cause of death have not been released. An autopsy is pending Thursday.
The coroner’s office, sheriff’s office and the State Law Enforcement Division are investigating.
