ASPEN, CO. (THECOUNT) — John Teague and James “Bret” Varra, both of Carbondale, were identified as the two men who drowned at a Colorado reservoir Saturday night.
Teague, 46, died after jumping into the water at the Ruedi Reservoir to help the 59-year-old Varra, who was having difficulty in the water. Both men lived in Carbondale, reports the Eagle County coroner Sunday.
Authorities say two boats were tied together away from the shore when one man, Varra, went swimming and struggled. That’s when Teague jumped in. source
No other information will be released until the autopsies are finished. The coroner says those should be completed this week.
