COLUMBUS, OH. (THECOUNT) — Ohio authorities have identified J Stan Deberry, as the man killed in a car crash in east Columbus Friday night.
Deberry, whose age was not provided, was operating a 2004 Acura RDX while traveling near the intersection of Cole St. and Miller Ave., when he failed to stop for a red light and collided with a woman driving a 2006 Toyota Camry.
The Acura exited the roadway following the collision, rolled over and struck a line of trees.
Witnesses confirmed observing Deberry fail to stop for a red light at the time of the collision.
It happened just before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Cole St. and Miller Ave., according to police. A woman driving a 2006 Toyota Camry westbound on Cole St. entered the intersection when she collided with a 2004 Acura RDX, driven by J Stan Deberry, going southbound on Miller Ave. Upon leaving the roadway, the RDX struck several small trees and rolled on to its passenger side. source
Deberry was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Camry driver’s condition was not made available.
The crash remains under investigation.
