WESTBURY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Sham Lal of Westbury, NY, has been identified by the Nassau County police as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle in Westbury Saturday night.
Lal, 66, was attempting to cross Old Country Rd, near Grand St S, when he was struck by a 2006 Mercedes at 9:55 p.m.
Lai suffered multiple trauma injuries, police said. source
The 58-year-old male driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene and summoned help.
Lal was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Anyone with possible information on the incident is urged to contact police at 911.
