VANDERBURGH COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Indiana man, David Egan, has been identified as the victim in a deadly hit-and-run accident in Evansville late Friday night.
Authorities say they have opened an investigation into the deadly hit-and-run incident after Egan, 23, of Evansville., was struck and killed on I-69 near South Green River Road in Evansville before midnight.
Indiana State police say they received multiple calls of a man acting erratically while in the roadway in the southbound lane of I-69. As authorities attempted to reach the scene, more 911 calls came in saying the man was now laying down in one of the lanes.
Upon arrival, police found Egan suffering from serious injuries as a result of being struck by an unidentified vehicle that left the scene.
Egan was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead as a result of blunt force trauma.
Deputies arrived to the area of I-69 near South Green River Road to find the man with severe injuries. An ambulance delivered the man to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. source
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating this as a hit-and-run fatality.
