PARMA, OH. (THECOUNT) — Police have named the 29-year-old man shot dead after opening fire on a pair of police officers during a traffic stop, according to authorities.
Jonathan Legg of Parma Heights, was the subject of a traffic stop when opened fire on an officer striking him in the leg. The detective is listed in stable condition at an area hospital. A patrolman was also injured in the incident.
Legg was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say Legg shot the Parma Heights detective, and in turn, the detective and a Parma patrolman shot at the driver. source
The Parma police officer suffered a gunshot wound to the leg in the shooting 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.at the intersection of Stumph Rd & Huffman Rd in Parma Heights, OH.
The patrolman also suffered injuries and is being treated at Southwest General Hospital.
