CLINTON TOWNSHIP, OH (WCMH) — Westerville, Ohio man, Dewayne Stancil, was identified as the man killed Wednesday after police say he crashed his Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle while attempting a seat stand.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Stancil, 21, was traveling north on Cleveland Avenue near Elmore Avenue around 1:50pm Wednesday when the fatal crash occurred.
Investigators said Stancil was standing on his seat while traveling at a high rate of speed. Stancil struck the back of a 1996 GMC Yukon driven by a 59-year-old Columbus man. source
Stancil was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Yukon was uninjured in the crash and was not cited, according to an accident report.
According to police, Stancil was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
