INDIANAPOLIS, IN. (THECOUNT) The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department have arrested a 20-year-old man over the hit-and-run death of Indianapolis, Indiana, woman, Annastaisha Leslie Sandlin.
Omar Lopez was arrested Wednesday on preliminary charges of leaving the scene of an accident causing death to a person. Police say he is the prime suspect in connection with the deadly hit-and-run crash last week.
Police say Annastaisha Sandlin was riding her bike south on Standish Avenue just after 5 p.m. Friday when she was struck by a small silver SUV and killed. The man driving the SUV, who police believe was Lopez, fled the scene. The vehicle was later found abandoned. source
A witness, who shot video of the aftermath of the crash, said he observed the SUV involved the the crash attempting to flee the scene when a man exited the vehicle and abandon it at Madison Ave & Bacon St Indianapolis, IN.
