NEWARK, N.J. (THECOUNT) — Gualberto Lebron, the former boyfriend of missing Newark mom, Julia Vega, has been taken in custody and charged with murder after her dead body was found behind an vacant home.
Lebron, 32, also faces numerous other counts in the murder of 30-year-old Vega, who went missing from the 200 block of South 7th Street, Newark, NJ., following an argument with the Newark man.
Lebron’s 34-year-old brother, Gliberto Jr., is facing conspiracy and weapons charges in connection with Vega’s death. It wasn’t known Wednesday if either man has retained an attorney. source
Vega was last seen May 9 when she left her job to walk her dog. Her body was found Friday in Irvington, and officials used dental records to identify her.
Authorities haven’t said how, when or where Vega was killed Vega.
The couple had two children together.
Police are asking anyone with information on Vega’s disappearance or subsequent death to please contact 911 immediately.
