Delish reports Blake Painter, who starred in seasons two and three of Deadliest Catch, was found dead in his Oregon home on Friday. He was reportedly dead for days before authorities found him. He was 38 years old.
It was a friend who alerted officials to something possibly amiss after he hadn’t heard from Painter for awhile. Though Painter’s cause of death hasn’t yet been confirmed, police are testing for narcotics, which they found in his home.
There were allegedly prescription bottles found at the scene as well, but those aren’t currently believed to have played a role in his death. A toxicology report and autopsy is pending.
Painter was the show’s most masterful crab fisherman.
