The FBI is raiding the home and storage facility of former Ohio House speaker Cliff Rosenberger, according to Dayton CBS affiliate WHIO.
Agents are reportedly at his home in Clarksville and a storage facility in Wilmington.
“We are conducting law enforcement activities in those areas,” FBI spokesman Todd Lindgren told WHIO.
Rosenberger resigned in April amid reports of an FBI investigation into lavish spending. He said that while he believes all of his actions as speaker have been “ethical and lawful,” he understands the inquiry could take some time to resolve. source
“Meanwhile, there are many important issues facing our state that deserve careful consideration and review, and Ohioans deserve elected leaders who are able to devote their full and undivided attention to these matters,” Rosenberger said in a statement.
Since then, the Ohio GOP has been unable to reach a consensus on a new house speaker.
