An 8-year-old Akron, Ohio, boy was rushed to the hospital and is listed in critical condition after police say he was shot by his 9-year-old cousin as the pair were playing video games inside a Marcy Street residence.
The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 1200 block of Marcy Street after Arron police say boys were playing video games, when the 9-year-old went to the kitchen to get something to eat.
According to officers, the 9-year-old returned with a handgun and shot the 8-year-old in the stomach.
A 14-year-old boy who was also in the house, heard the shot and ran for help.
The 8-year-old boy is being treated at Akron Children’s Hospital.
Police said the shooting remains under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
