Here’s the Kuraray America Eval statement posted at about 11 a.m.:
“This is a message from Kuraray America Eval located at 13100 Bay Area Blvd Pasadena,TX 77507. At 10:27 on 5/19/2018, a(n) Explosion, Fire incident occurred at our facility. At this time, Emergency Vehicles, Flames, Odor, Smoke may be noticeable to the community. We are coordinating with local officials, and working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Stay tuned to local officials for more information. Update will be provided on this site, when needed.”
The City of Pasadena posted the following statement to its Faceook page:
“City of Pasadena Office of Emergency Management has received a level 3 notification from **Kuraray America Eval located at 11500 Bay Area Blvd.**There is no danger to the public at this time. ***Incident Description: A fire explosion happened in the EVAL Plant. Multiple people down. Emergency vehicles on their way. The city will continue to monitor the situation and advise you if you need. No shelter in place for residents at this time.”
