Kenneth Allan Jacobs is believed to have shot his wife, Melinda Jacobs, during a police standoff in a Townsend, TN., residence. It is unknown if Melinda was killed before or during the standoff.
Ken Jacobs, 69, was barricaded in the home, the Blount County Sheriff’s Office says. Two people were later found dead inside the Kelly Ridge Road residence Saturday afternoon.
A SWAT team was called in to the scene of the Laurel Valley neighborhood around 12:30 p.m. Negotiations failed and police attempted to gain entry to the home. At that time, authorities discovered two people dead of gunshot wounds.
Officials say they received information that a man, 69-year-old Kenneth Allan Jacobs, was barricaded in the home. Deputies say after attempting to negotiate with the residents inside, they made entry into the home to find both Kenneth and Melinda Howes Jacobs, 59, dead. source
