Randy Cassell has been identified as the Bassett VA man killed in a Monday morning crash on Virgil H Goode Hwy.
Cassell, 54, was traveling on State Route 220 at 7:53 a.m. just south of State 608 in Rocky Mount when the fatal crash occurred. His vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees before coming to a rest.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said a 1992 Buick Roadmaster was traveling north on Route 220 when the car ran off the right side of the roadway and struck several trees. The driver of the Buick was identified by authorities as Cassell of Bassett. source
He was not wearing his seat belt and died at the scene, according to police.
The crash remains under investigation.
