Michael Stephens Williams has been identified as the North Carolina police officer who died from injuries following a motorcycle crash Friday.
Williams, 56, of Waxhaw, died at New Hanover Regional Medical Center early Saturday morning, according to the N.C. State Highway Patrol. He was a longtime Pineville Police Department officer.
Officials say Williams was riding a 1996 Harley Davidson on the U.S. 421 ramp on U.S. 74 when he lost control of his vehicle and ran off the roadway shortly after 5 p.m. Friday. The motorcycle struck the guardrail and Williams was ejected from the vehicle. source
