Derrick Brandon Wells has been named as the Tennessee man found dead after shots rang out in Columbia, police say.
Wells, 47, was discovered on Riverside Drive shot several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Columbia police arrived to the 900 block of Riverside Drive for a shots fired call at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday to find 47-year-old Derrick Brandon Wells lying on the ground in front of an apartment shot several times. He died at Maury Regional Medical Center from his injuries. source
Police say there is little to go on as far a suspect description and motive.
There is no suspect information. The investigation is ongoing.
