Tyler Burgess has been identified as the South Carolina man killed in a traffic accident early Friday morning, the Spartanburg County coroner said.
Authorities say, the crash involved two vehicles and occurred on Southport Road in the Cedar Springs community. Burgess, 23, was traveling in a Toyota Camry when the vehicle struck the rear portion of a tractor trailer. He was killed in the collision.
The coroner said his investigators were called to the scene just after 2 a.m. and found Tyler Patrick Burgess, 23, of Wyatt Road in Spartanburg deceased. Burgess’ cause of death was head and body trauma secondary to a two-vehicle collision, the coroner said. source
A passenger in the Toyota was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police. The injured person’s name has not been released.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Spartanburg Police Department.
