98-Year-Old Wadsworth Woman Found In Closet 17-Year-Old Nephew Under Arrest

Margaret Douglas, 98, was found dead inside her home and now a 17-year-old boy has been arrested in her death.

Douglas was reported missing from her home this month after a relative asked police to conduct a welfare check. The family member told police they had not been able to contact the senior for about four days. Ohio police later located the woman dead inside a closet under some articles of clothing.

After the initial call, officers did a walk-through of her home located on Portage Street Northwest, North Canton, OH, but didn’t see any evidence of foul play. Her body was found in a closet and was concealed with various items and clothing after another sweep of the home. According to a press release from Wadsworth police, the suspect was at a Cleveland area location when detectives learned of his involvement in her death on Monday. source

The suspect is a juvenile and has not been formally charges, so his identity has not yet been released.

Police say it appears the juvenile acted alone, but the investigation is ongoing.
