Andrew D. Good has been identified by the Lancaster County District Attorney’s office as the victim in Saturday’s fatal incident at Cocalico Creek in Ephrata, PA.
Saturday night, Ephrata Police were dispatched to the parking lot at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital to help the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department with a prisoner resisting arrest.
Good reportedly “escaped the deputies,” and ran into Cocalico Creek while wearing handcuffs and a chain restraint belt. The water is about 12 feet deep in that area.
Police and fire attempted a rescue, but Good was found dead at 9:22 p.m. source
The District Attorney’s Office will determine if there was a criminal act regarding the in-custody death.
