The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed a deadly shooting that occurred between two young men in Beckville, TX.

On Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, at approximately 1:30 AM, Harrison County 911 dispatchers say they began receiving calls of a shooting with a possible victim. Upon arrival, deputies located several witnesses who stated Blayne Anderson, 22, had shot his friend, Keith Carr, 25, dead.

During the investigation, police found Anderson asleep or “passed out,” in a pickup truck near a wooded area. He was removed from the vehicle and arrested without incident.

The victim was found to be several feet away and appeared to have gunshot wounds to his body and appeared to be lifeless.

EMT units arrived and attempted to find pulse and were unable to locate pulse or heartbeat. A .40 caliber pistol was recovered at the scene.

During interviews with a witness, it was discovered that approximately 3 hours earlier in the evening, there had been an alleged assault on the ex-girlfriend of Stacey Carr, the victim, by Anderson. Allegedly, Carr confronted Anderson at the River Rats Park and a fight ensued after being told that Anderson had assaulted his ex-girlfriend. The alleged suspect then retrieved a pistol and allegedly shot the victim multiple times during the fight. source

Judge Meghan Pinson was called and pronounced the victim deceased. Both victim and alleged shooter, are residents of Beckville TX., Panola County. Anderson is in the Harrison County Jail and no bond has been set.

According to social media, both men attended Beckville Junior-Senior High School. Anderson works as a welder and is a member of the 798 pipeliners union.
