Jerrylee Trent has been named as the Stuart, Va., man killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday in Patrick County. He was 23.
Police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred on Claudeville Highway just north of Route 645 at around 5:15 p.m.
Trent, (born, Jerry Lee Trent III,) was traveling in a Ford Mustang south on Route 2013 when the vehicle ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Police said he was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. source
According to officials, speed was a factor in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
