18-year-old Mercedes Dudley was named as the woman killed in an early morning shooting in Jasper County. The incident took place east of Heidelberg, according to authorities.
Officials say three people were riding in a vehicle when someone fired shots striking and killing a woman. Gunfire also injured another unidentified woman.
The severity of the unnamed woman’s injuries are unknown at this time. There was also a man in vehicle, but he was not injured.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, Jones County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation served a search warrant this morning at a residence on County Road 113 east of Heidelberg. Johnson says there is one suspect in custody and they are planning to make three more arrests.source
