Kaitlin Demeo has been named as the Columbus woman shot dead by police after allegedly firing a gun outside her bedroom window. She was 25.
Homicide detectives say they are investigating what led to the death of the woman after police responded to a “shots fired” call Saturday morning.
Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 6000 block of Whims road at 4:30 a.m. When they arrived, a woman was firing shots outside her bedroom window, according to Public Information Officer Dean Worthington. source
Police said officers attempted to negotiate with Demeo but she continued to fire shots at SWAT officers, who returned fire.
Demeo was pronounced dead at the scene at 8 a.m.
