Lee Kennedy, the Illinois man who shot himself after attempting to kill three people, has died.
Kennedy, 43, of Taylorville, died about 12:30 pm, Tuesday, at Memorial Medical Center, in Springfield, reports illinoishomepage. He’d been transferred from Taylorville Memorial Hospital Monday afternoon after sustaining a presumed self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Authorities say he was suspected in the attempted homicide of three people about 5 am, Monday at a home in the 500 block of South Walnut.
Kennedy’s ex-girlfriend, a man and 13-year old girl were hurt in the shooting, but are expected to be okay.
Kennedy fled from law enforcement and was considered armed and dangerous until he was apprehended by police.
The investigation concerning the entire incident continues.
