Joe Nathan Duncan has been named as the prime suspect in the murder of 91-year-old Mable Fowler. Police would only describe the manner of death inflicted on the victim as “Heinous,” said the Dothan Police Department.
Arriving officers arrested Duncan, 58, and charged him with capital murder after the grisly weekend homicide involving the elderly woman.
Police responded to a call of a possible death at a house on Hodgesville Road around 8 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, police found Fowler’s body in what was an apparent crime scene.
While the woman’s cause of death was not released, authorities described it as “heinous.” source
Authorities located Duncan and after a brief interview about the homicide, arrested him on capital murder charges.
A connection between Duncan and Fowler, if any, was not immediately made clear. The motive in the killing is not known.
Duncan is being held without bond.
