Maurice Dunlap has been named as the Indianapolis suspect wanted in the brutal beating of Mexican restaurant owner, Grant Redmond.
Dunlap was on a blind date when he attempted to “dine and dash” from Acapulco Joe’s located at 365 N Illinois St, Indianapolis, IN 46204. Grand tried to intervene and ended up on the losing end of a merciless beating compliments Dunlap.
Redmond was rushed to the hospital and admitted to the ICU after being seriously beaten in the confrontation. He was taken in emergency surgery for a blood clot in his brain.
As of Thursday, Redmond was showing signs of improvement in the hospital. His speech is still limited, but doctors remain hopeful he will regain normal functions over the long haul.
Dunlap is currently wanted on charges separate from the incident at Acapulco Joe’s including theft, robbery and battery by means of a deadly weapon. source
