Dolores Marquez Alvarez has been named as the Texas woman stabbed to death by her husband, Juan Garcia Alvarez Sunday night. She was 46.
According to Midland County Sheriff deputies, they responded to a disturbance in the 2200 block of West County Road 137 at 9:11 p.m. The disturbance was reported at a home involving Juan, 57, and his wife Dolores.
The caller stated that Dolores was on a bed not breathing and that her son was performing CPR.
When deputies arrived on scene they found that Dolores had been stabbed and that Juan had left the scene.
EMS arrived and tried to perform CPR on Dolores but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Sheriff Painter, additional units were dispatched to the scene when a large crowd of family members arrived and fights began breaking out. source
Later that night family called to say that Juan was at the back of the home.
Officers responded to the alley behind the home and encountered Juan with a firearm in his hand.
Sheriff Painter states that Juan refused to put down the gun and instead fired a round at the officers. The officers returned fire and struck Juan, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to her Facebook page, Dolores was an office manager at High Roller Sand.
