Lenoir, NC., mother, Barbara Elizabeth Sherrill, is facing serious charges after cops say she made a threat towards a middle school over being upset about her son being disciplined.
Sherrill, 29, of Lenoir, made threats about placing explosives at East Alexander Middle School, located at 1285 White Plains Rd, Hiddenite, NC 28636.
Investigators say Sherrill made other threats she posted on social media, according to the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office
Investigators say Sherrill, told others about the explosives and said law enforcement “better hope they find them before they go off.”
Sheriff Chris Bowman said Sherill’s son reportedly got into an altercation recently and was being disciplined by school officials. Bowman says Sherill didn’t agree with the school’s handling of the incident and the threats started. source
No threat was subsequently found.
Sherrill was arrested without incident at her home in Lenoir. She was charged with one count of felony false report of mass violence on education property.
She was placed under a $20,000 secured bond.
