Milwaukee police say they have arrested the parents of 9-year-old Miyanna Jelks, the girl fatally shot by her younger brother while at a home on the city’s north side Saturday.
Investigators say Jelks and her younger brother were playing with the firearm when it accidentally discharged, striking and killing the girl.
Jelks was then rushed to the hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.
Police say the younger brother has been taken to the Milwaukee County Children’s Court Center. Jelk’s parents, a 29-year-old Milwaukee woman and a 32-year-old Milwaukee man, were arrested on multiple charges. source
