Police have arrested Ledrika Ford, the New York mother of an infant featured in a now viral Facebook video showing the baby crawling alone in the middle of the road.
Ford, 27, was taken in custody after a video surfaced showing several concerned citizens tending to the baby in the middle of the street.
The authorities began investigating after they learned of the video on Friday night. After several hours of searching, they located Ford.
Ford told officers that the baby was in the backseat of her vehicle, and a short time later, she looked back to see that the baby wasn’t there. She said she then turned around and found her child at a cross street in New York. source
Police arrested Ford, and the baby was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Ford is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, and all four of her children have been placed in the custody of child protective services.
Police have not released the condition of the baby.
