Eastern Carolina woman, Tiara Drake, is accused of killing her boyfriend by setting his house on fire while he slept. The crime mimics a popular 1980s made for TV movie, The Burning Bed.
Nash County deputies have charged Drake, 29, of Battleboro, with first degree murder and first degree arson.
Deputies say they were called to a fire at a home on Red Oak Battleboro Road around 4:40 a.m. Thursday.
The body of the homeowner, James McNair, was found inside by firefighters.source
The Burning Bed is a 1984 TV-movie starring Farrah Fawcett and Paul Le Mat. In the movie, Fawcett kills her abusive husband by burning their bed as he slept.
