Iowa Mother Arrested, Left Infant, 6-Year-Old In Crashed SUV After Killing Pedestrian

Police have arrested Nyagai Neyail, the Iowa mother connected to a deadly crash Sunday night where a pedestrian was killed in Des Moines.

Officials say Neyail, 21,was operating an SUV when she struck and killed a 33-year-old man who was walking westbound on the 2800 block of Urbandale Ave.

Police say evidence shows Neyail’s 3-day-old and 6-year-old children were in the vehicle during the crash. source

Neyail is facing 6 charges, including Vehicular Homicide by Reckless Driving, Vehicular Homicide by OWI, 2 counts of Neglect or Abandonment of a Dependent Person, Leaving the Scene of an Accident Causing Death, and Driving While License Suspended. She’s been booked into Polk County jail.
