Steve Wilkos LIED! Was Extremely Drunk In Serious Jan 21 Car Accident

TV host Steve Wilkos has been charged with driving under the influence following a car crash that took place last month. At the time of the crash, the host told members of the media that he was fumbling for his glasses and that he never drinks or does drugs.

Wilkos, once known for his gig on the Jerry Springer show, crashed his vehicle into several poles and a tree on West Avenue in Darien on January 21, according to police. The crash was discovered by a patrolling officer who then detected the strong smell of alcohol.

Wilkos later told TMZ that he typically wears glasses when he drives, but he was not wearing them before the crash. He said at the time he was reaching for his glasses to put them on when he hit the curb and then struck the poles and a tree.

Wilkos concluded by saying he never drinks or does drugs. source

Sorry Steve, you lie!

Police say they have now determined Wilkos had a blood-alcohol content level of .29. The legal limit in Connecticut is .08.

After learning of it, police said Wilkos turned himself in at Darien Police Department Wednesday night. He was charged with operating under the influence.

Wilkos posted a court-ordered $1,500 bond and was released. He’s expected to return to court March 5 in Stamford.
