Police are investigating what they are calling a suspected double homicide involving a mother and her adult son in the upscale area of Aldie, Virginia.
A coworker of 65-year-old Mala Manwani, asked authorities to perform a welfare check Wednesday morning after she failed to report to work for two days.
Upon arrival at, 25461 Tomey Ct, Aldie, VA., deputies located Mala and her son, 32-year-old Rishi Manwani, dead from multiple gunshots wounds.
Investigators told local reporters that the fatal incident does not appear to be a random crime. source
Cops say they believe that the suspect or suspects knew, and possibly targeted, one or more of the victims. While police did say there does not appear to be a public threat, the suspect in the case has not been taken into custody and are considered to be armed and dangerous.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have heard gunshot or saw suspicious vehicle in the area to call police at 703-777-0475.
