Turns out all those times you ate cold pizza for breakfast while in college may have actually been a habit worth keeping.
Dietitian Chelsey Amer is claiming a slice of pizza is way more healthier than your everyday bowl of sugary flakes. reach for a slice of pizza, says one dietitian.
Amer made the enlightening comments while speaking to Daily Meal:
“You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories,” Amer said. “However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning.” source
“Plus, a slice of pizza contains more fat and much less sugar than most cold cereals, so you will not experience a quick sugar crash,” Amer confirmed.
Amer acknowledges that while too much pizza can lead to weight gain, it’s a more balanced meal than your morning bowl of Count Chocula.
